The first test that we’re going to write is a unit test for project/models.py, which contains the SQLAlchemy interface to the database.
This test doesn’t access the underlying database; it only checks the interface class used by SQLAlchemy.

I’ve found that tests are one of the most difficult aspects of a project to maintain. Often, the code (including the level of comments) for test suites is nowhere near the level of quality as the code being tested.
A common structure used to describe what each test function does helps with maintainability by making it easier for a someone (another developer, your future self) to quickly understand the purpose of each test.
A common practice is to use the GIVEN-WHEN-THEN structure:

The SetUp() and TearDown() methods always run for each unit test within a test suite. This approach results in the same initial state for each test within a test suite, which doesn’t provide much flexibility.Advantages of Fixtures
The test fixture approach provides much greater flexibility than the classic Setup/Teadown approach.
pytest-flask facilitates testing Flask apps by providing a set of common fixtures used for testing Flask apps. This library is not used in this tutorial, as I want to show how to create the fixtures that help support testing Flask apps.
First, fixtures are defined as functions (that should have a descriptive names for their purpose).
Second, multiple fixtures can be run to set the initial state for a test function. In fact, fixtures can even call other fixtures! So, you can compose them together to create the required state.
Finally, fixtures can be run with different scopes:
*function - run once per test function (default scope)
*class - run once per test class
*module - run once per module (e.g., a test file)
*session - run once per session
For example, if you have a fixture with module scope, that fixture will run once (and only once) before the test functions in the module run.

To help facilitate testing the User class in project/models.py, we can add a fixture to tests/conftest.py that is used to create a User object to test:
The @pytest.fixture decorator specifies that this function is a fixture with module-level scope. In other words, this fixture will be called one per test module.
This fixture, new_user, creates an instance of User using valid arguments to the constructor. user is then passed to the test function (return user).
We can simplify the test_new_user() test function from earlier by using the new_user fixture in tests/unit/test_models.py:

When developing tests, it’s nice to get an understanding of how much of the source code is actually tested. This concept is known as code coverage.
I need to be very clear that having a set of tests that covers 100% of the source code is by no means an indicator that the code is properly tested.
This metric means that there are a lot of tests and a lot of effort has been put into developing the tests. The quality of the tests still needs to be checked by code inspection.Python Test Runner Download

There are two excellent packages available for determining code coverage: coverage.py and pytest-cov.
I recommend using pytest-cov based on its seamless integration with pytest. It’s built on top of coverage.py, from Ned Batchelder, which is the standard in code coverage for Python.

Here’s the thing…. Mac has many different OS’s which means that there are many different CAC enablers. And some will work for particularly OS’s only.MUST READ IMPORTANT INFO BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Before you get started downloading and installing your CAC Enabler, there is some information that you need to be aware of:
*Only download and install ONE CAC Enabler. Multiple CAC Enablers can cause your CAC Card reader not to work. If you currently have an incorrect CAC enabler installed, you need to uninstall and remove it before getting the correct one. This includes built-in Smart Card Readers for the newer OS’s.
*Some of these CAC Enablers will ask for a Keychain Password. You should already have this information. It’s your CAC PIN. But before you enter this information, make sure you’ve already selected your CAC Certificate. And you need to use your full CAC pin. Failure to do so can actually lead to you getting locked out of your CAC Card. If this happens, you’ll have to go to your nearest ID Card Office or PSD to get it unblocked.
*After successfully installing your CAC Enabler, you need to restart your computer before trying to access any CAC protected site. This ensures that your computer has properly recognized and installed the CAC Enabler.
*Just because you’ve properly installed and set up your enabler, that doesn’t mean that it will work with all browsers–particularly Firefox. As popular of a browser it is, Firefox is notorious for not allowing CAC-protected sites to be accessed. This is why I recommend using Google Chrome. If your Mojave’s built-in reader is not working, then you can proceed to pick up another CAC enabler. There are 4 verified readers that work for Mojave that we know of.

High Sierra is another Mac OS with a built-in Smart Card reader. However, unlike Mojave or Catalina, you cannot access CAC-protected sites through Safari. They are not supported through Safari in this OS.
You need to use Google Chrome for optimal results. If you are adamantly opposed to using Chrome, I’d recommend to go ahead and update your Mac OS to Mojave or Catalina (if supported). Afterwards, you should find you don’t need a CAC enabler as long as you have the proper certificates.
However, if things aren’t working out the way they should, you do have some options for third party CAC enablers.
These have been verified to work with High Sierra and with every CAC Card type we’ve come across.Sierra (10.12.x)
Sierra is the last of the Mac OS’s that has a built-in Smart Card Reader. However, you need to be aware that this reader will not function with the Safari browser even with the proper certificates.Adobe Reader For Mac

I use all of them, the Dvorak version. However, note that there are manyquirks in keybinding system in all Windows, Mac, Linux, and Bash too. In aperfect world, a keybinding system should let you assign or remap any keysystem-wide. However, that’s not the case. Not in Windows, not in Mac OS X, notwith emacs, nor with AutoHotkey. Typically, there are certain key combinationshandled at low level that you just cannot remap, some are by design, but somedue to complexity. (For example, on Windows, ❖Window+l, ❖Window+u, Ctrl+Alt+Del. On Mac, ⌥optionwith any of euin`, or ⌘command with any of zxcv.)
Also, there are many practical quirks. For example, on Windowswith AutoHotkey, the keys won’t work when you are intsalling a software or inregedit or running any of sys admin tools.Because, while in regedit, you are running it in admin privilege mode,But AutoHotkey is not running in admin privilege mode. You can run AutoHotkey as admin, but that introduces more complexities.
On the Mac, the system wide keybinding works only with apps written in the Cocoa framework, but even so, not all your key remappings works. (for practical purposes, it works in vast majority of apps out there.)
So, the above ErgoEmacs scripts are not perfect, but they cover all the basic cursor movement and deletion keys. (read the file header for detail.)

RunWindows on Intel Macs

There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs. Here is a list of the primary options in the market place.

*Apple Boot Camp software. Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows. (Free because it comes with OS X. You must own a legitimate Windows Full Retail Installer.)
*Parallels Desktop for Mac. Parallels is a software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
*VM Fusion.VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
*CrossOver. Enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows. The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
*VirtualBox. Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris. (Free because it comes with OS X. You must own a legitimate Windows Full Retail Installer.)
*Veertu. A new entry from Open Source utilizing native virtualization. It’s a fast and secure way to run VMs on the Mac.
*Veertu Desktop is supported on Mac models of early/mid-2011 or later running Yosemite 10.10 or later.

Parallels, VM Fusion, VirtualBox, and Veertu can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc. There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization. The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive. Windows must be installed on an internal drive if you use Boot Camp.
